Google Ads
Import?

Don’t just set up the import from google ads and leave it on a schedule, it overrides important settings. If you do have it on a schedule choose the options very carefully to just update ads and negative keywords or whatever makes sense for your set up.

I have noticed that location settings , for example, can be imported incorrectly. Also be very careful with budgets as you can easily overspend bringing a budget across from Google Ads.

Network
Settings

Choose your network settings carefully, the “whole microsoft network” is the standard setting but audience ads on Bing can be very spammy. I tend to go with Microsoft sites and select traffic only. It is also worth checking the reports and setting which sites on the audience network have had clicks and what the performance was like. You may want to use an exclusion list to block sites like msn.com

Match types
and bidding

Match types in Bing (Microsoft Ads) do not tend to work as well as Google’s – especially broad match. Start with phrase and exact and check the search terms report very carefully.

Conversion
Tracking

Conversions are not currently imported when coming from google, these need setting up and testing to make sure it is working correctly. Don’t use the “smart conversion” action or a contact page as these . could use a micro conversion if need be
